Height: 247cm / 97.2"

Product Description:

This is a rare bridal Mora clock, known in Swedish as an Ångermanlandsbrud, dating from the 1800s and originating from the Ångermanland region of northern Sweden. Bridal Mora clocks are among the scarcest forms of Swedish longcase clock: traditionally commissioned as a wedding gift, the case was hand-carved to echo the silhouette of a bride's dress, with detailing concentrated around the bodice and skirt of the body. Surviving examples in this style rarely come to market, making this a significant piece for collectors of Swedish folk art and Gustavian antiques.

The clock retains its original two-weight, pendulum-driven movement, and is in full working order. It is a traditional 7-day mechanism, meaning it only needs rewinding once a week — set-up is simple, and clear instructions are included with every clock we ship.

Standing 247cm (97.2") tall, with a width of 62cm (24.4") and a depth of 22cm (8.7"), this clock makes a striking, sculptural floor piece for an entryway, hallway, or staircase landing.

We source our Mora clocks directly from estate sales across Sweden and have specialized in this niche of Swedish antique clocks for over a decade. Each piece is inspected, photographed, and shipped with a custom-built crate, full insurance, and door-to-door delivery — including to the USA, where transit typically takes 2–3 weeks.

Why collectors choose a bridal Mora clock:

Bridal Mora clocks were never mass-produced; they were one-off commissions made for a specific wedding, which is part of why they're so much harder to find today than standard Mora clocks. If you're building or completing a collection of Swedish or Scandinavian antiques, a piece like this is a genuine rarity rather than a decorative reproduction.

Mora Clock Set-Up

The setting up of a Mora Clock is relatively straightforward and we provide a set of instructions with the clock. Essentially the weights are hung at the end of the 2 chains/cords and the pendulum is attached. By swinging the pendulum the clock would then start. The mechanisms are 7 day working mechanisms which means that the Mora Clock should be rewound once per week.
