This antique Swedish Mora clock pairs hand-painted floral decoration with carved ornamentation across the case — the blend of painting and woodcarving that defines this celebrated strand of Swedish folk art. As a Scandinavian longcase clock, the Swedish equivalent of the grandfather clock, it brings both craftsmanship and presence to a room. Original paint in a forest green color with delicate hand painted floral details. All paintwork is original. Arabic numeral face.

The clock retains a working longcase movement with pendulum and two weights, striking a bell chime on the hour. It is a traditional 7-day mechanism, rewound once a week, with full set-up instructions included.

Mora clocks were originally produced as a rural cottage industry in the town of Mora, Sweden — farming families who had trained as clockmakers in Stockholm brought those skills home and combined painting, carving, and clockmaking into the distinctive curved silhouette still recognised today.
