This Mora clock dates from around 1800's and is painted in cream with gold highlighted details.
The clock has a small crown painted in cream. The base is flat and the clock has a viewing window behind which the pendulum can be seen to swing. The viewing window has its original glass.
This Mora Clock has its original works, two cast iron weights and pendulum. The mechanism runs for 8 days and then requires rewinding which is achieved by turning the key in the hole to the right hand side of the clock face. The clock has a double chime by 2 hammers striking 2 bells and creating a 'ting-tang' sound. The chime can be disabled by removing the weight from the chime pully.
The clock was made in the middle of the 1800's and has the name of the clocksmith and the village where it was made ('mora'). The style of this clock is typical for Swedish Mora clocks.
